The origin of the Fuente family is in Cuba where Arturo Fuente senior learned his father's profession.
Carlos Fuente senior was born almost in the cigar field and not long after taking over his father's father, Carlos was born junior (Carlito). He also entered the footsteps of his father.
After leaving the family Fuente from Cuba and then Tampa, they opened a factory in Nigaragua. Unfortunately, this factory was burned to the ground by the Sandinist rebels. Later a second factory in Honduras was destroyed by fire.
In 1980, the Fuentes opened their first factory in the Dominican Republic with seven employees. At the moment, it has grown to more than two thousand employees in six factories.
